Over the years, I’ve learned that when homebuyers are out househunting, they’re always curious about the towns lifestyle. I thought it’d be fun to share with you some of my favorite things about Bloomfield NJ by NYC transit. Don’t be upset townies and diehard local residents if your favorite restaurant by Broad Street and northern Bloomfield weren’t highlighted because this is all about the downtown area of Bloomfield NJ by NYC transit only! There are so many restaurants, nail salons, some serious crispy fried chicken joints and other international cuisine down in the area that I just focused on the highlights along Bloomfield Ave and Glenwood Ave by the new Glenwood Village ! Wow way to go Bloomfield NJ! Next time I’ll share other awesome spots, but first things first–let’s go check out this list!
Here’s my Top 10 round up + BONUS on what makes the downtown Bloomfield NJ by NYC Transit a favorite town to call home (in random order):
1. Close to NYC Transit
Bloomfield, NJ is only 30 minutes from NYC via 2 NJ transit train lines: Bloomfield & Watsessing train stations, 2 bus routes: Decamp Bus Line and on NJ Transit. If you’re a New Yorker like me (former turned go NJ fan) and need that easy NYC commute, desire a walkable downtown then this town works.
2. Anthony’s Cheesecake – Cheesecake heaven
That’s right, there’s CHEESECAKE in this town! Anthonys Cheesecake is by far one of the best newcomers to hit Bloomfield! Be sure to check out their Sunday brunches and go ahead have a slice of cheesecake heaven!
3. Havana Restaurant – Cuban food
Every now and then, I get a cuban sandwich fix and crave black beans with rice and I head over to Havana Restaurant . I like making my own but you just can’t resist this cute little house turned restaurant!
4. Satis Bistro
Here’s a bistro with its original location in Jersey City. Thank goodness they made their way to Bloomfield!
5. Taste It Again Jamaican Cuisine–Jamaican goodness
Every little thing gonna be alright over at Taste It Again Jamaican Cuisine because they’ll serve you up the tried and true! I’m a fan of Oxtail so you know what I’ll be ordering! They even have Open Mic & Reggae nights.

Down in the area, there a plenty of diners, hey we’re in NJ after all! If you’re waiting around for the train–why not stop in and grab a cup of coffee the old fashioned way?
7. Mangia Organica
Italian food and clean living is what this newcomer is known for. Mangia Organica

Well that’s a good cause to be proud of. Woohoo!
