I recently made roast asian chicken wings with Kikkoman Soy Sauce using my favorite find — the Breville Smart Oven 1800 Watt Convection oven. It’s virtually impossible to find this Smart Oven on sale but I guarantee you it’s well worth the price. The wings came out perfectly to a golden crisp while the fat easily drained into the supplied draining pan making for a healthier side dish. I’m always finding different ways to prepare chicken and I admit the wings is easily my favorite part of the whole chicken. In terms of how long to marinade the Kikkoman seasoning mixture, I’d recommend a minimum of 4 hours any longer you might have a saltier tasting roast. You can use your judgment as your experiment with the wings. Sometimes to mix it up I’ll even add some fresh thyme to the seasonings mix and it’s amazing–nothing like fresh herbs. If you make a larger batch of the marinade, you can store in it handy Ziploc freezer bags (I don’t store for more than 30 days) and marinade when you’re in the mood.
The Roast Asian Chicken Wings recipe is simple with some key ingredients such as five spice powder, garlic, and coconut oil (if you’re not able to use it–it’s okay but it’s delicious giving it an Asian Island twist. If you’d like to substitute coconut oil for sesame oil–will taste great too! Let me know how this fares at your next house warming party or soiree! Enjoy!
